Spiced Pear Porridge

Quick and healthy, a delicious warming breakfast.

Dairy / soya / egg / nut free

Takes 10 minutes. Serves 1 adult or 2 children.


Storage: keep covered in fridge for 1 day & reheat until piping hot.

Freeze for up to 3 months.


INGREDIENTS

- 1 ripe pear (you want the pieces to be squishable between finger & thumb)

- 50g (1/2 cup) plain porridge oats

- 250ml plant milk

- Mixed spice

- 1 tsp milled chia & flax seeds


METHOD

  1. Add porridge oats and milk to a small pan. Bring to the boil then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes

  2. Chop the pear into small pieces (discard the core) then add most to the porridge along with a sprinkle of mixed spice

  3. Serve into a bowl and top with milled seeds and remaining pear pieces
